Almond pulp cakes

What you do with the almond pulp that is left over from making almond milk? Many things… one thing you can make is raw cakes.

  • Almond pulp
  • shredded coconut
  • buckwheat flakes
  • chia seeds
  • raisins
  • cinnamon
  • baking soda
  • coconut sugar or other sweetener


  • cashew paste or a cup soaked cashews
  • coconut sugar or other sweetener

Dehydrate or stick them in the oven on the lowest setting ’til they are firm.

Raw crackers

Had raw crackers and hummus for lunch today.

  • filtered water
  • chia seeds
  • black sesame seeds
  • flax seed meal
  • sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder or fresh, curry powder

Dehydrate or stick it in the oven on the lowest setting ’til they’re crispy.

  • soak black rice (1-2 days)
  • soak quinoa overnight the day before you’re making this recipe
  • 2 shredded carrots
  • 2 small leeks finely chopped
  • sea salt, paprika powder and  black pepper to taste
  • 1 Belgian endive chopped
  • half sliced apple to garnish


  • pine nuts, sunflower seeds, sea salt, black pepper, paprika powder and Italian seasoning blend with a bit of almond milk.

2015 NOTE: This post is so old & clunky, but I’m still making eggs like crazy. I have a lot of nice egg molds now, and laugh every time I see the ridiculous avocado-sized ones in the photos below. If you check out my Instagram account (@lagusta) I’ve posted about them a bunch with the hashtag #vegandeviledeggs—you might have to wage through some ones made with potatoes (ugh), but you’ll get to our beauties. This recipe was so good that a few years ago a cookbook author completely ripped em off and published the recipe in Veg News! And then another vegan blogger did same. Imitation / flattery blah blah.

  • 2 ‘soft’ raw beets diced
  • 1 red union finely diced
  • 2 cellery sticks finely chopped
  • 1 cup red grapes
  • sunflower seeds to garnish
  • seasalt and pepper to taste


  • blend about half cup cashew paste and a bit of almondmilk

Black sesame seeds

Black sesame seeds, like them better then the white ones. They seem less tart. I love putting them in my salads and making black sesame and almond milk. They are are a great source of magnesium and calicium, minerals and amino acids.
